Uran Togoo

In the territory of Khutag-Ondor soum of Bulgan province, at a distance of about 80 kilometers northwest from Bulgan city, on the west side of the main road going to Khövsgöl, four extinct volcanoes named Uran, Tulga, Togoo, and Jalavch are located. They are mountains that were erupting during the Quaternary period and last became extinct 20-25 thousand years ago. Uran Togoo mountain is 1686 meters above sea level, its crater rim is intact and not broken, has a diameter of 500-600 meters wide, and its depth is 50-60 meters. It is called Uran Burkheer mountain and was first protected in 1965 and taken into state special protection.
