Itinerary

DAy 1: Ulaanbaatar – Binder Soum

  • Morning: Your expedition begins heading east from Ulaanbaatar. Your first stop is the magnificent Genghis Khan Statue Complex at Tsonjin Boldog for a guided tour and photos. (Note: If your international flight arrives in the afternoon, the tour will officially commence at 08:00 AM the following morning).
  • Afternoon & Evening: Continue the scenic drive to Binder Soum, the historic cradle of Genghis Khan. Upon arrival, take a peaceful walking tour through the beautiful Narsan Tögöl (Pine Forest) and along the banks of the Onon River.
  • Activities: Horseback riding, fishing, hiking through pine forests, and introducing yourself to the authentic Mongolian lifestyle.

Day 2: Campfire Night (Binder Soum)

  • All Day: A beautifully paced day with no vehicle travel. Enjoy complete freedom to relax far away from city noise. Travelers can choose between scenic mountain trekking or embarking on extended horseback rides through the untouched wilderness.
  • Evening: Following a delicious dinner, gather around for a traditional Mongolian Campfire Night featuring local music, storytelling, and stargazing.

Day 3: Binder Soum – Dadal Soum

  • Morning: Depart on an adventurous unpaved dirt road toward Dadal Soum. En route, stop to visit the Palace of Mongolian Queens (Mongol Khatdyn Örgöö) and a historic Genghis Khan monument.
  • Afternoon & Evening: Arrive at your lakeside tourist camp in Dadal Soum. After settling in, you can take a kayak out onto the water or participate in cultural camp activities.
  • Activities: Kayaking, horse riding, fishing, learning how to assemble a traditional Mongolian Ger, and deeper immersion into nomadic customs.

Day 4: Buryat Heritage & Steppe Life

  • All Day: A dedicated rest day with no driving. Spend the day immersing yourself in the rich history and unique traditions of the local Buryat ethnic group.
  • Highlights: Visit the Temujin Childhood Museum and the Local Hunter’s Museum to explore the region’s traditional wildlife and hunting heritage. You can also experience a traditional Russian-style banya (sauna) to rejuvenate.
  • Activities: For horse enthusiasts, unlimited horseback riding is available. You can also engage with local nomads, learn how they process organic milk and dairy products, and see how they tame their livestock.

Day 5: Dadal Soum – Chinggis City

  • Morning: Travel toward Chinggis City, the capital of Khentii Province. On the way, visit the Shikhihutag Complex, dedicated to the Supreme Judge of the Great Mongol Empire and the origins of Mongolian law.
  • Afternoon: Arrive at Chinggis City and check into your hotel. Afterward, enjoy a guided tour of the historical Sechen Khan Palace Museum before returning to the hotel for a comfortable evening.

Day 6: Chinggis City – Return to Ulaanbaatar
